Fiorentina are set to complete the signing of Jack Harrison, with the Leeds United winger expected in Tuscany for his medical.

Italian reports say Fiorentina and Leeds have already agreed a deal, and Harrison is due at Viola Park to sign his contract.

Speculation between Fiorentina and Harrison only gained traction a few days ago, and things have moved quickly.

The 29-year-old will become Fiorentina’s third January addition as the club looks to add experience and energy out wide.

With the Viola still not out of Serie A danger, the deal they have struck for Harrison appears to be relatively low-risk.

Jack Harrison is a hard-working wide player who can operate on either flank, pressing full-backs and delivering crosses early.

He largely played on the right flank in his formative days and, as a left-footer, he likes to cut inside onto his stronger foot to shoot.

Under Marcelo Bielsa, however, Harrison was often used on the left, and he adapted well to that role.

From that side, he can drive at defenders, reach the byline and deliver crosses for team-mates.

At Fiorentina, Harrison could feature on the right in the 4-4-2 or 4-2-3-1 system Vanoli is moving towards.

Jack Harrison is an English winger from Stoke-on-Trent whose route to the top was somewhat unorthodox.

He moved to the United States as a teenager, played college football at Wake Forest, then broke through in MLS with New York City FC.

Harrison got the chance to train with stars like David Villa, Andrea Pirlo, and Frank Lampard during his time at the American club.

Harrison then joined Manchester City in 2018 but never played a first-team game.

He spent time on loan at Middlesbrough before building his reputation at Leeds.

Under Marcelo Bielsa, Harrison became a key wide player as Leeds won promotion and re-established themselves in the Premier League.

He later had a two-year loan spell at Everton, playing for the Liverpool-based club 2023 and 2025.

Now out of favour at Leeds, he has decided to embark on a new adventure at Fiorentina.

At international level, Harrison has won two caps with England’s Under-21s, both in 2017.

According to Tuttomercatoweb, Fiorentina have agreed a loan until the end of the season with an option to buy Harrison permanently for €6m.

That means Fiorentina do not have to commit to a full transfer now. They can assess him in Serie A before deciding whether to trigger the clause.

Harrison has struggled for consistent minutes at Leeds, which is one reason a move has become possible.

He has only made 13 appearances so far this season, with three starts and just 443 minutes under his belt.

Therefore, a fresh start in Florence will give Harrison the chance to get his career back on track.

If he settles quickly, he can compete for a starting role and give Fiorentina more rotation during a crowded second half of the season.

Harrison is likely to be up against fellow Fiorentina newcomer Manor Solomon, who has joined on loan from Tottenham.
