Inter Milan completed the signing of Yanis Massolin on Deadline Day – and they’ve got themselves a bargain.

Yanis Massolin Joins Juventus: All The Details

Massolin joined Inter for a reported €8million fee, including add-ons, but will stay on loan at Modena for the rest of the season.

The deal until 2030 was officially confirmed in the final hours of the transfer window, with an agreement reached last week. Inter believe the talented 23-year-old is the future of their midfield, according to Calciomercato.

Both Hakan Calhanoglu and Henrikh Mkhitaryan are now approaching the twilight of their careers, and head coach Cristian Chivu will likely need a refresh in the position next summer.

The Nerazzurri moved quickly to snap up Massolin ahead of a host of Serie A rivals, including Bologna, Fiorentina and Udinese.

Massolin played in Switzerland, France and Belgium before Modena signed him for €700,000 in July 2025. He has made 15 appearances this season, scoring one goal and registering two assists.

Inter have splashed out an initial €3.5m, but performance-related bonuses could inflate the overall fee to €8m.

Who Is Massolin – And Where Has He Played?

Massolin, born in September 2002, began his youth career at French side Moulins in 2007, at the age of five.

He then moved on to Evian Thonon between 2009 and 2016, before further stints at US Annemasse Gaillard, Meyrin and FC City.

After spending a year at Moulins Yzeure, he made a big move to Clermont Foot, then in Ligue 1. His top-flight debut arrived in 2022-23 and he made a further five appearances in the division, despite his young age.

In September 2023, he completed a switch to Francs Borains, in the Belgian second tier. There, he played 43 games and scored five goals, catching the eye of Modena last summer.

What Will He Bring To Inter Milan?

Massolin began as a second striker, operating just off the frontman. However, over time, he has transformed into an all-action midfielder, able to play multiple roles across the centre of the pitch.

He stands at an imposing 6ft 6in, but combines his physical strength with a deft touch and sharp movement.

Due to his stature and style of play, he has often been compared to AC Milan’s Adrien Rabiot, a likeness also highlighted by his agent.

Since arriving in Italy, Massolin has notably worked on his tactical understanding and physique. This added mass now allows him to hold off opponents and feed his team-mates into advanced positions.

Inter also wanted Adin Licina, but lost out to Juventus after they sealed a deal with Bayern Munich.
