Axel Disasi is on Fiorentina’s radar as La Viola plot a late January bid for the wantaway Chelsea center-back.

Paolo Vanoli’s side is in the market for a new defender and is set to approach the Blues about Disasi’s availability, Sky Sport Italia reports.

The Serie A strugglers have already signed a number of new players this month as they battle relegation. However, Vanoli is on the lookout for defensive reinforcements and views Disasi as the perfect fit.

Fiorentina Interested In Axel Disasi

With Fiorentina likely to sell Luca Ranieri, replacing the Italian defender has become a priority for La Viola. And that is where Axel Disasi comes in.

Disasi was targeted by Bologna as a potential Jhon Lucumi replacement. Owing to the Colombian not moving on this month, that meant the Rossoblu’s interest cooled.

In turn, that left the path clear for Paolo Vanoli’s side to make their move with the former Torino boss keen to strike a deal with Chelsea.

Disasi hasn’t made a single Premier League appearance this season and is desperate for minutes. Especially as he is soon to turn 28 and is very much coming into his prime years.

Despite his lack of action in 2025-26, Disasi has a number of suitors interested in his services. They include AC Milan and Roma as well as West Ham, Leeds and Wolves.

Who Else Are Fiorentina Targeting In January?

Despite Fiorentina signing Giovanni Fabbian, Manor Solomon, Jack Harrison and Marco Brescianini this month, La Viola want more personnel through the door.

With the 2024 Conference League runners-up in a precarious league position, new club president Giuseppe Commisso has his work cut out.

Disasi is very much on Fiorentina’s radar alongside controversial forward Neal Maupay. The Frenchman is seen as a replacement for Edin Dzeko.

However, it’s the backline that perhaps needs the most attention. If Disasi can’t be lured to the Artemio Franchi Stadium, the likes of Sikou Niakate, Jaka Bijol and Emerson Royal have been earmarked.

Diego Coppola was also on La Viola’s watchlist but the Italy defender appears set for a straight loan move to Paris FC. Former Genoa defender Radu Dragusin was also a target but AC Milan and Roma are also in the running.

Bringing Disasi in seems to be the preferred option currently. With the transfer deadline just days away, Paolo Vanoli needs to act quickly.
